# Wondering about Joseph of Egypt

I imagine Joseph sometimes lay awake<br>
Wistful or wondering<br>
What might have been<br>
If he'd not fled Potiphar's wife.<br>
<br>
I know "as a man thinketh," and<br>
Lusting is adultery,<br>
And "our thoughts will condemn us."<br>
So if Joseph did question his decision, <br>
Maybe he hadn't fully healed;<br>
His heart still needed godly cleansing.<br>
<br>
But "bad men do what good men dream."<br>
So even if Joseph sometimes wondered … ,<br>
As for me, he met his test.<br>
